Believe it or not, the Duplass Brothers’ new film Cyrus, starring John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei, Catherine Keener and Jonah Hill, hits theaters in two weeks! Or at least it hits New York and Los Angeles and then expands to more cities (check out the list of cities here). Fox Searchlight has aired a new TV spot for Cyrus (via TheMovieBox) that’s an impressive little mini-trailer. It explains the plot, gives you a little taste of the comedy, just barely enough to get you in theaters. It’s a great film that we all loved at Sundance and highly suggest. Be sure to check out: NotMileyCyrus.com – it’s self explanatory. Now fire up this TV spot below!
Watch the new TV spot for the Duplass Brothers’ Cyrus:
Cyrus is both written and directed by indie filmmakers and brothers Jay and Mark Duplass, who directed The Puffy Chair and Baghead previously as well as a number of shorts. This was shot using mostly improv with a basic story structure and some dialogue for a screenplay. The film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year, which is where we caught up with Mark and Jay for an interview. Fox Searchlight, who has a partnership with the Duplass Brothers, is bringing Cyrus to limited theaters starting on June 18th and will expand throughout the summer.
